A2 protein for happier digestion
Back in 2000, The a2 Milk Company™ was founded in New Zealand by Dr. Corran McLachlan after a scientific discovery. While studying at Cambridge University, Corran learned that proteins in milk affect people differently.
Published research over the years demonstrates that people who have discomfort when drinking ordinary cows’ milk were able to drink the a2 Milk® brand, which has the same nutrition and creamy, delicious flavor as regular dairy milk. That’s because a2 Milk® contains only the A2 protein and no A1.
What does this mean for baby?
Traditional cow milk infant formula, which contains a mixture of A1 and A2 proteins, may be causing digestive issues in your little one. These symptoms may include tummy pain, gas, diarrhea and fussiness.
One possible culprit? Your baby might actually be unable to digest A1, a protein commonly found in milk from Holstein cows which are, by far, the most common dairy breed in the United States.
“I’ve seen some people tolerate milk from A2 cows more easily,” says Liz Lipski, PhD, director of nutrition and integrative health at Maryland University.
The new A2 protein product line from Holle comes from organic farming with specially selected cows that only give A2 milk. The difference lays in the beta-casein protein, which is similar to that found in breast milk. If your little one is suffering from tummy trouble or excessive fussiness, A2 formula may be just the solution you've been searching for.
